How Long Can You Keep a Rental Dumpster?
Our standard rental is three full days — and with a little planning, three days covers almost every residential project in Bakersfield.
Why 3 days is the sweet spot
Day one: demo or the big purge. Day two: the corners you forgot. Day three: buffer. Longer default periods sound generous, but you pay for them whether you use them or not — that's part of how $695 broker quotes happen. Ours stays $475 because we don't pad the schedule.
Need it longer? Just say so
Extra days are available at a small daily rate, arranged upfront so there's still one number on one invoice. Contractors on remodels often run week-plus placements with scheduled swap-outs when the can fills early — standing-account stuff we set up on the first call.
Plan the fill, not the calendar
- Demo before delivery — have debris staged so day one is loading, not swinging hammers.
- Break everything down — flattened boxes and disassembled furniture nearly double capacity.
- Watch the weight, not just the days — heavy material hits the included ton before the deadline matters; our weight limits guide explains.
If your project is really a one-day pile, skip the rental: a junk removal crew clears it in one visit — the math is in our comparison post.
