Swift Disposal crew hauling a hot tub in the branded truck after a spa removal in Bakersfield, California

How do you remove a hot tub?

A spa weighs 600 to 1,000 pounds dry and won't fit through anything resembling a gate — so we don't try. We cut the shell and cabinet into manageable sections with reciprocating saws, carry the pieces out, and load them. Decks, raised pads, narrow side yards in Seven Oaks or The Bluffs, sunken installs — we've pulled spas out of all of them. The fiberglass and framing are disposed of properly and the metal is recycled.

Most jobs take two to three hours. You don't need to be home for the whole thing — just the walkthrough.

What does hot tub removal cost?

From $475 for a standard spa, including labor, hauling, and disposal. Swim spas, rooftop or crane jobs, and full surrounding-deck demolition are quoted from a photo before you commit — the number we give is the number you pay. See real ranges on the cost guide.

Looking for a specific job? Jacuzzi removal and swim spa removal have their own pages with exact pricing.

While we're back there...

Half our hot tub customers add something: an old swing set, a pile behind the shed, a garage corner. Adding items to a spa removal visit is cheaper than a second trip — that's standard junk removal pricing on top. Replacing the spa with a new patio? A $475 dumpster handles the demo debris. Clearing a whole property? Start with estate cleanouts.

We pull spas across the metro and beyond — up the 58 to Tehachapi, out to acreage in Rosedale, lake places in Lake Isabella, and ranch properties near Taft.

Hot tub removal questions

How much does hot tub removal cost in Bakersfield?

Most spa removals start at $475, which covers cutting it up, hauling every piece, and sweeping the pad. Oversized swim spas or crane-access jobs are quoted from a quick photo before we book.

Can you get a hot tub out of a fenced backyard?

Yes — that's the normal job, not the exception. We cut the shell into sections that fit through a standard side gate, so fences, decks, and tight corners aren't a problem.

Does the water and wiring need to be handled first?

Drain it if you can; if not, we can pump it out on site. Electrical should be disconnected at the breaker by an electrician before removal — we'll walk you through it on the phone.

"I had a water fountain that needed to be removed. These two gentlemen showed up and started to remove it. They were very nice and made sure to not break the windows that was behind the fountain. I've hired them previously to remove a hot tub. I would definitely hire them again for future projects."
